Itinerant teachers of children with visual impairment provide diagnostic and assessment services on referral. Teachers provide itinerant instructional services, as well as instructional consultation and resources. VI staff maintains communication with evaluation centers, the state residential school, DPI personnel, and parents regarding children with visual impairment. Teachers communicate with medical personnel to exchange information and provide appropriate services to individual pupils. Orientation and mobility services are available when needed for children with visual impairment.
