The Special Education and Pupil Services Administration service provides administrative services relating to children with disabilities, including managing fiscal resources and assisting with human resource issues. Staff obtains data and calculates special education budgets, special education portions of CESA contracts, special education package contracts and categorical aids claims and reimbursements. Fiscal support also entails managing third party billing and distribution of revenues.
The service includes completing and filing required reports to the Department of Public Instruction, such as the district special education plan and December 1 child count. Administrative services also include special education audit assistance, special education forms development, implementation of pilot projects, board presentations, and posting of open positions. Leadership services include dissemination of current information on special education laws, funding, procedures, and programming to school personnel.
The service operates special education programs needed for local districts, including occupational therapy, physical therapy, hearing impaired services, visually impaired services, audiology services, and school psychology services.
