  • At least 18 years old
  • Not need more care or services than ADS can provide
  • A funding source (agency) that has agreed to pay for services
  • Provide updated information about themselves such as a report from their doctor or other professional about their disability
  • Need and want ADS services
  • Have transportation to and from work or be able to make arrangements
  • Be willing to follow ADS work rules
  • Referrals to ADS by an agency which has a service agreement with ADS or has agreed to pay for services.

  • At the end of the evaluation, recommendations are made as to what services are needed in order for a person to reach their full vocational potential.

Vocational Evaluation Occurs at the onset. It is a ten-day program that assesses a person’s academic level, vocational interests, and strengths and weaknesses in regard to employability. Sara Bloczynski

Work Adjustment Training Extended training program that varies in length according to person’s needs.

Purpose is to assist a person in gaining more work experience, establishing an understanding of the value and demands of work, developing attitudes and personal characteristics

Sheltered Employment An in-house program that gives a person an equal opportunity to earn an income while learning new skills on a variety of sub-contract jobs.       $6.78/hour
Functional Assessment Evaluation of a person’s abilities in a variety of community settings.

The assessment will include job interests, strength and endurance, mobility, transportation needs, academic and communication skills and identifying other supports available to the person.
   
  • ADS staff will set up meeting with person and significant others
  • Will spend time with them in different community settings both familiar and unfamiliar

Job Training and Coaching Job skills training is provided to a person by a job coach at the job site.

Training will include working with co-workers and supervisors
    Job coach will remain with the person at the job site until the fading process can begin. $21.86/hour
Ongoing Supports To assure the person and employer maintain the communication necessary for the employer/worker relationship to grow.     The job coach can return at anytime if employer or worker requests it or a problem has surfaced.
