CHALLENGER LEARNING CENTER OF BROWNSBURG

The Brownsburg Challenger Learning Center is comprised of a realistic Mission Control modeled after NASA’s Johnson Space Center and a Space Station, which provides students with a simulated spaceflight experience.  Integrating science, math, and technology, the Challenger experience encourages curiosity, discovery, and the pursuit of lifelong learning.  Through interactive distance learning, the Center offers dynamic programming that provides a "Window to the Universe".

PROGRAM: "From Our Space to Yours"
The classroom of the future is now!  Want your target audience to learn about videoconferencing?  How about with an actual videoconference?  This is an easy way to sample all of Challenger Learning Center's programs and a great introduction to videoconferencing.  This 30 minute session is designed for administrators, teachers, facilitators, and distance learning coordinators and can be customized for your audience ($60).

"Living and Working in Space"
Do you dream about traveling in space or becoming an astronaut?  Imagine climbing aboard a Space Shuttle!  Explore the day-to-day life of an astronaut.  How do astronauts perform routine activities in microgravity?  Join the Challenger Center in an exciting interactive program about living and working in Space.  This 45 minute session is designed for grades K - 4 ($85).

"Journey Through Space and Time"
Who did the United States first launch into space?  Did we really land on the Moon?  Join the CLC for an exciting adventure exploring America's space program--from the early days of Project Mercury to the International Space Station. This 45 minute session is designed for grades 5 - 6 ($85).

"Alpha Base One"
Alpha Base One (your class) has been living on the Moon.  The Alpha Base Two Team is enroute to the Moon and needs your assistance!!  Your students will conduct hands-on experiments to acquire information that is vital to the success of the mission in progress and communicate directly with Mission Control.  You have one hour to complete the simulation successfully.  Good luck, Mission Specialists!  This 60 minute session is designed for grades 5 - 8  and is offered during the months of Oct., Nov., Jan., and Feb. ($130).

"Planetary Patty"
Let your students be the stars of the program.  Students will explore and share information (some classroom preparation is necessary) about the sun, the planets, the moon and asteroids as they roll through the solar system with Planetary Patty and her purple truck!  This 45 minute session is designed for grades 3 - 4 ($105).

"Our Eyes in the Sky - Satellites"
Interactive Only! This workshop explores how satellite technology enhances our modern world.  Perfect for a young audience to connect current technologies to their everyday lives. Join the Challenger Learning Center as they examine weather, landsat, and communication satellites.  Participants have the opportunity to design and build a satellite to share during the presentation.  This 45 minute program is targeted for students in grades 5 - 8 ($85).

"Captain Cosmic"
Let your little stars shine by being part of the program.  Join Captain Cosmic for a tour of the Solar System.  Captain Cosmic and students will share information (some classroom preparation is necessary) about the sun, moon, and each planet.  Climb on board with Captain Cosmic for a fun-filled adventure. This 45 minute session is designed for grades 1 - 2 ($105).

"Unlocking Mysteries of Comets: Past, Present, and Future"
Comets have always been a mystery. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to land on one of these cosmic snowballs? Where do they come from and where do they go? We'll look back into history at some famous comets and explore on-going and future missions designed to unlock the mysteries of comets including Stardust and Deep Impact. Designed for grades 5 - 8 ($85).

"Destination: Mars!"
Imagine traveling in space . . . destination: Mars!! The journey, the challenges, and the hardships are numerous. What will we find upon landing? Join the Challenger Learning Center for a voyage to the Red Planet. Designed for grades 5 - 7 ($85).

"Who Wants to be an Astronaut?"
Interactive Only! Do your little "astronauts" have the right stuff? Find out by joining the Challenger Learning Center for an exciting and fun adventure about astronauts and living and working in space.  This 30 minute program is designed for kindergarten students ($70).
